Daniel J Romanski, ASL Recycling representative, will give a presentation on electronic waste recycling programs for businesses and consumers.  Modern Electronics Recycling is unfortunately in its infancy. With innovative new “ewaste recycling” models like the one spawned in California with the passage of SB20 in 2004, a global debate has been reignited on HOW DO WE GET RID OF THIS STUFF? The EU model spawned by the WEEE Directive highlights the difference of opinion and how different state and private actors are driving results in their communities. From the history of landfill management, to the exponential growth in product manufacturing, this presentation provides an overview of the state of ewaste and the industry it created. Scott Maiden, Club member and SeniorNet instructor, will give a presentation on Adobe Photoshop Express which is a photo sharing site with easy to use editing tools. Photoshop Express is two things: a photo-sharing site targeting the millions of snapshot photographers who think software such as Photoshop Elements is too difficult, too disconnected or just too much, and a platform from which Adobe will serve partner sites with editing tools. For sharing, the feature set is pretty typical: it lets you upload photos into albums (up to 2GB), organize them, make them public for sharing or share them privately via email links, and generate and email nice-looking self-contained Flash slideshows. For more information, got to https://www.photoshop.com/express/landing.html

Also covered will be the free online editing capabilities of the Picnik and FotoFlexer websites which allow you to do such things as correct color and red eye and add text, borders, frames and all kinds of effects to your photos all for free on the web without an expensive photo program residing on your computer.
